Uplevel's allocation report can optionally estimate the cost of effort in dollars based on salary bands
The allocation report offers several different units to understand the amount of effort being spent in each area.
An optional unit that can be enabled is cost in dollars invested in each area. This is computed by multiplying the estimated salary of each contributor, times the amount of time they invested in each area.

Sum for each contributor:
(Dev Weeks invested in this area) * (Approximate weekly salary)
Estimated Salary by Role
Each individual's salary is based on an approximate value for their Uplevel Role. By default, these values are taken from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics ranges (linked below).

Salary adjustment by Region
Optionally, these salary estimates can be adjusted by region.
- For ex, contributors in USA may have a salary multiplier of 1.0x, while contributors in another region may have a salary multiplier of 0.8x.
- Any property in the org chart can be used to adjust the salary estimates, for example: Country or City.
- By default, all regions are treated the same.
Visibility of cost estimates
The Cost estimate data in allocation is not visible by default for users of the Uplevel Dashboard. Visibility can be enabled for specific users upon request.
